LoWER Annual Conference 2004


This conference took place on Friday 23 and Saturday 24 April 2004
Centre for Economic Performance & Centre for Analysis of Social Exclusion,
London School of Economics, Houghton Street, London WC2A 2AE.

LoWER, the CEP and CASE jointly organised the concluding scientific conference of the second phase of the LoWER network (2000-2004). The overarching theme of this phase was the question:
"Can professionalising low-skilled consumer-services jobs improve European employment growth?"

Keynote speakers
  • Jane Waldfogel (Columbia University and CASE) on: "Combining Work and Family: How do Low-Income Families Fare?"
  • Joshua Angrist (MIT Department of Economics) on: "Using Quantile Regression to Characterize Changing-Wage Inequality"
